Details: Sat 18th July sees this small, fun paddling challenge in Weymouth Bay, open to Stand Up Paddle boarders seeking to challenge themselves to 5k (approx) across the bay in a laps fashion Full safety cover is provided for these shallow waters, and all proceeds go to a local charity. This is NOT aimed at first time paddlers - you must be able to swim and self rescue yourself. PFDs & Leash are mandatory. £20 entry fee with proceeds going to charity at Weymouth Beach Lifeguards. Entries are strictly limited! Timings are 1530-1700 for paddling. Registration is 1430-1515. Parking: Parking will be a case of finding what ever you can, and this may well be in the area of the Pavilion. Ideally you would be dropped off to minimise cars entering the town. The route will follow parallel to the quay and round Buoy A (anti clock) beyond it towards GreenHill (old Pier bandstand) to Buoy B to round it (anti clock), before straight lining it back across the bay towards Buoy A to start again. Paddlers to finish will do three laps, i.e. will round Buoy B THREE times. On the last leg paddlers will return across the bay a final time and round Buoy A (CLOCKWISE), before straight back to the start line.
