Paddle UK SUP Tidal Leader
£220pp
The Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Tidal Leader award is designed for confident, experienced paddlers who want to lead others on coastal and estuary SUP adventures in dynamic tidal environments. Ideal for those looking to progress their skills or turn their passion into leadership opportunities, the award qualifies you to guide groups in up to force 3 winds, with tidal flow scope, while prioritising safety and enjoyment.
What does a Tidal SUP Leader do?
A SUP Tidal Leader can lead a wide range of activities, from exploratory paddles and educational sessions to team-building trips, either independently or within organisations. Leaders may also deliver Paddle UK personal performance awards such as Paddle Start and Paddle Discover, though additional qualifications may be required.
Prepare for the course
To get the most from your course, you will need to feel comfortable on your board and be able to paddle on open water that may be choppy and challenging. It is also important that you have gained some experience of coastal water conditions before booking on to your training.
Before your Assessment, you need to attend Navigation Training (see below). This isn’t a requirement for training but will support you to consider the safety aspects to be able to better plan journeys with confidence.
Prerequisites to enrol on assessment:

1 day First Aid Certificate
-

-
Navigation
Assessment
Is a completely separate course. Over 1 or 2 days assessment, you will lead your participants on a planned tidal water journey and be assessed for your leading, personal, and rescue skills for SUP.
